East Division Girls come so close to winning at Ballumbie again !
After a very tense and exciting finish to the SLGA Girls Inter-Divisional matches at Ballumbie Castle, Dundee, the West and North District teams were level with two wins apiece. The tie-breaker was the number of holes up in individual games played throughout the competition.
Congratulations to the West team who came out top with (+20) against the North on (+9).
Well done to all the East girls who put up a tremendous fight right to the end. It really did come down to the last hole played on the 18th in the last match. Nicola Taylor and Alexis Hutton were all square against their North opponents , however Alexis's drive unluckily found an old divot just lying into the second cut of rough and unfortunately they lost the hole to give the North a win against us.
Just a note but, if you count up the number of holes up, won by the East team from the full results below you will see it adds up to (+23 ) , so overall they played some great golf . Well done girls !
We must say thanks to Tiffiny who stood in at the last moment as reserve. Well done Tiffiny you played some great golf. Sam,we hope your back is OK !
I would just like to take the chance on behalf of the East Girls to thank Liz Jones (Fife) for very kindly helping and supporting us throughout the weekend.

Message from the Chairman
Maggie would like to wish all the girls who will be representing the East Division in the Scottish Inter-Divisional matches this weekend at Ballumbie Castle Golf Club, Dundee all the very best . She hopes you will all play well , enjoy the weekend and bring the Trophy back home ! Maggie would have loved to have been with you all, however, she will be on her way travelling over the pond to support the Great Britain and Ireland team in the Curtis Cup which is being played at the Essex Country Club, Massachusetts from June 11th to the 13th. Results, photos & more can be seen on the LGU website at www.lgu.org
This will be the first year that Maggie has missed supporting the East since the SLGA Inter-Divisional Matches started back in 2005 when the East were victorious.
We will miss Maggie's support but I am sure we will do Maggie proud and play our best !
We would like to take this opportunity in saying that we hope the GB&I team do well in the Curtis Cup and give the Americans a very good match.
